Get Rid Of Privacy Guard Fake Anitvirus software - How To Remove this Malware

Seeing advertisements online is nothing new these days They come in several different forms and at times can easily make your web surfing experience rather annoying Sometimes though, advertisements are not always as easy to see as you would expect them to be, especially when what is being advertised is fake anti-spyware or fake antivirus software designed to deceive you and get you to purchase a copy of the software.
Even when you purchase a copy though the problems that you are having will not be fixed and you will continue having issues. Privacy Guard s one such program and once this gets onto your computer you will have no end of problems.
This malware gets you to believe that your only option is to purchase and activate your copy of the software. The most common method of distribution is through compromised web sites and the use of pop up messages that inform visitors that there are viruses, malware or spyware currently active on your computer and off to scan your system with software in order to clean up the problems.
Sometimes the first sign you have this our computer is when you see it starting a scan. Nobody likes to have malicious programs on their computer at any time and if you see this scanning your computer you might think you are getting your computer protected for free.
No matter what you click on though you're going to end up at an advertisement page for this malware software once again telling you that your computer has been compromised and that their tool can easily handle the situation. Unfortunately there are no errors except those being generated by this malware and unless you take action within minutes you will be unable to do anything on your computer and you need to get rid of Privacy Guard to stop this.
When you first reboot your computer with this malware installed, it will start scanning your computer. Once the scan is completed you are going to be shown a rather extensive list of infections that are currently located on your computer. This list of infections is nothing more than a ruse to try to instill a bit of concern and fear in you about the state of your computers health. None of the infections this software finds are real.
This malware will cause you real problems though. by doing the following.
#1 It will prevent you starting task manager to stop the processes this malware used and then will tell yous task manager is infected with a virus.
#2 If you try to get onto the internet to download a system scanner to remove this you will find your internet connection does not work and returns errors. This is because this malware is now sending you to another address or just blocks some sites as well.
#3 Most programs will no longer run unless you click on them several times. In fact as this gets worse just about all you can do is to shut down your computer and you need to get rid of Privacy Guard to stop this happening to you. This is how to do it.
#1 Shut down your computer and restart it in safe mode. To do this when your computer restarts press the F8 key until you see the start menu. From there select safe mode with networking.
#2 Open your browser and download a system and registry scanner. If your browser does not open or goes to a blank page do the following on internet explorer. Go to tools, then internet options then select the connections tab on the internet explorer menu bar. From there select the LAN settings tab down the bottom. Then untick the proxy server box and save the settings. Once you have done this internet explorer will work and you can download system and registry scanner.
#3 Your next step is to ensure this malware is not running at all. To to this start task manager by right clicking on the windows task bar down the bottom of your scan and selecting task manager from the menu. When it opens go to the processes tab and stop this process if it is running.
PrivacyGuard2010.exe
#4 Once you have done this find and delete the following files and folders.
Privacy Guard 2010 folder and all files in it.
PC folder and all files in it.
c:\Program Files\PC\PrivacyGuard 2010\PrivacyGuard2010.exe
Go to the windows folder then to the tasks folder and find and delete a file called At1.job
#5 Run the system and registry scanner remove all the registry entries for this malware and fix file and system errors it has caused. A good system and registry scanner will run step #4 above for you and remove any settings this malware has altered and bring your computer back up to speed again as well.
If your computer is infected with any malware and you need to get rid of Privacy Guard Run a system and registry scanner right away and keep your PC safe.
